Get Involved with Solid
Solid is an open standard, initially developed by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, his team at MIT and their collaborators. Solid lets people store their personal data in an online space they manage — called a Pod — and decide exactly which services, applications and AI agents can access it.
The video below walks through an interactive Figma prototype which demonstrates the capabilities of Solid through example applications.
Call to Action
Solid needs you — whether you understand the code, the real-world problems it needs to solve, or both.
Watch the demos above, then tell us what you think. What applications would you build? What problems could Solid solve in your field? Every piece of feedback — even a quick reaction — helps steer the future of Solid.
Want to go deeper? We're forming feedback groups in areas like Social Good, Government and Health Research — with more being created as interest grows. Each group stress-tests the adoption toolkit (this video, the developer docs, and more), surfacing the adoption challenges that matter most. What these groups find will directly shape the standards, tools, and training materials the community is building.
Ready to join? Email solid@theodi.org with your area of expertise and a line about your background. We'll match you to the right group and get you started.
